Debt in the alternatives sector

Real Estate Capital recently highlighted that, whilst it has been the non-bank lenders who have, so far, been more focussed on the alternatives sector, mainstream bank lenders are now becoming increasingly interested and willing to lend.  With alternatives becoming mainstream, particularly in the alternative accommodation sector where investment in areas such as BTR and PBSA continues to grow, we expect to see lenders reacting to the change, looking at these assets more as operating businesses with loans structured accordingly.

Property lenders are proving keen to finance investors' growing interest in various types of accommodation.
