Maples Teesdale Annual Charity Padel Tournament 2024

On Tuesday we hosted our annual charity padel tournament in aid of East End Community Foundation's Winter Appeal 2024.  We have been working with the East End Community Foundation (EECF) for close to ten years and are continuing to get involved with their work and campaigns, particularly their Life Chances campaign and Winter Appeal.

The East End is one of the most diverse and vibrant areas of London, yet is home to some of the highest levels of deprivation in the UK. The East End has the highest levels of child poverty. On average 51% of children in Tower Hamlets, Newham and Hackney are living in poverty, compared to 31% in the UK. Over 40% of older people in the East End are living in poverty, compared to 14% nationally.

18 teams took part in the tournament, playing 4 rounds before being placed in seeded finals. Congratulations to Spring4 who were the overall winners in a very close 5-4 battle against London & Oxford Group.

Many thanks to all those who attended and helped raise money for such a worthwhile cause.
