Yesterday saw the opening of Wendy's first UK drive thru restaurant following hot on the heels of its return to the UK market in June 2021. Drive thru sites are in high demand and it is a real coup for Wendy's to have secured one in an environment where they are not only competing for sites with the more traditional fast food chains, McDonald's, KFC and Burger King but also coffee chains Starbucks and Costa who it feels have been snapping up drive thru locations for fun in recent times. It will be really interesting to watch how Wendy's reintegration into the UK market goes over the next few years.
