The four Ss for productive workplaces

Thanks to Duncan Owen, CEO of Immobel Capital Partners, for this article. Of the four Ss he identifies, for me the most important but also possibly the hardest is the first – strategic importance to the occupier.  One part of strategic importance (although only a part) is a building’s location. And for that location to satisfy other Ss such as safety and sustainability the relevant building needs to integrate with a wider community.  This is where our planning authorities have a unique role and also have the requisite powers.  If only they had the resources they need fully to exercise those powers.
