It's good to see that Westminster City Council paved the way for the adoption of its new local plan by dropping the novel suggestion that some larger commercial developments should be expected to provide affordable housing. Although that policy was dropped, the plan has been found as sound on the basis of (a) its minimum 35% requirement for affordable housing on residential schemes with a 10 unit/1000 sqm threshold and (b) the imposition of a 200 sqm maximum size for individual dwellings, subject to a couple of exceptions. It looks like it's goodbye to any new mega homes in W1.
