A great example of repurposing retail space in action...

The University of Gloucestershire has acquired the vacant Debenhams store in Gloucester and has plans to transform the space into lecture halls and training spaces for nurses and healthcare workers, with part of the ground floor being used as a community cultural and enterprise hub.

This is a perfect example of all of the trends we are discussing with our clients and contacts; repurposing void or excess retail space, creating a mix of community and educational uses alongside local retail to ensure thriving and sustainable hybrid hubs for local communities.

“By repurposing this iconic building into a new hub for learning, we can make a major contribution to creating a better future for our community.”
