The Canada Water scheme has now secured approval from the local planning authority, so just the Mayor to go.   However news that the amount of affordable housing puts the applicant 'at risk' is an obvious concern.  Nobody questions the importance of building affordable homes, but if the target is so stretching that it threatens the likelihood of major regeneration schemes then maybe we should question the demands that are being placed on development.  If a robust viability study proves that 35% is not achievable then nobody should be so rigid as to insist on it at the cost of risking the entire project.
