If the question is how do we fix the housing shortage then one of the answers must be modern methods of construction.   But the answer is more complex than this, as until this type of construction is fully accepted by those who fund private sector housing its use is likely to be limited to public sector and institutional landlords.

MMC clearly works in other parts of the world and bringing in their expertise can only help build the credibility of these developments.   However until banks and building societies find an acceptable way of kite-marking and certifying these homes they are unlikely to become mainstream.
