Are occupiers increasingly favouring connectivity over office location?

Interesting article pointing to buildings with strong connectivity achieving higher rents than similar buildings without a high digital performance rating (apparently even when factors such as the age of the building are stripped out of the comparison). The trend is more pronounced with certain occupier types (mostly TMT sector) which in turn impacts on which locations are most affected - there is almost no uplift in the City core where most occupiers are traditional finance and professional services firms.

All the indicators point to this trend continuing however this highlights the importance to landlords of considering connectivity in their offering.

A focus on improving user experience and wellness driven by the deployment of technology will be a strong focus for businesses moving forward.
