Few seem to doubt the accuracy of this target. Whilst finding enough sites will be difficult in itself, funding the homes is going to be even more of a challenge. The private sector is going to struggle to deliver homes that are genuinely affordable. Allowing local authorities to borrow more money is a start, but surely to meet these targets what is really required is an NHS style sustained injection of Central Government cash.
