Some common sense at last.....

At last the Government has caught up with everyone else's thinking in scrapping the borrowing limits that have prevented local authorities from building homes.  Of course this is only a small step.  The effect of the cap, coupled with austerity cuts, has meant that most authorities have lost their in-house capacity to deliver new homes.  Inevitably therefore the success of the policy is going to involve some reliance on private sector expertise.  But its definitely a step in the right direction.

Theresa May has announced the scrapping of council borrowing caps to allow local authorities to build more homes.
