One or two high profile crashes does not mean the end to public/private sector partnerships. Certainly, there is no harm in local authorities stepping up and doing more development on their own, as many have been dormant for too long. But in many major projects the two sides compliment one another with their skills, powers and resources and to write that off would be a huge mistake.
