Another successful 'reasons' challenge.

Here's another recent High Court decision where an authority's decision to grant planning permission against the advice of officers has been overturned for a lack of reasons.   For developers who find themselves in this fortunate situation it is vital that they ensure that the authority's decision is robust and defensible.  Failing to do this risks the permission being quashed in the High Court.

A council that granted a planning permission contrary to officers' advice, but relied on their officers' report to support their decision, has had the consent overturned by the High Court on grounds of inadequate reasons and faces costs of £22,750.
